What are good jobs right out of high school?

I'm gearing up for graduation and starting to think about jobs I could get right after high school. I'm not planning on going to college right away. What are some good job options for someone fresh out of high school?

There are several good jobs for individuals right out of high school that don't require a college degree:

1. Trade Workers: There's a high demand for workers in trades like electricians, plumbers, and carpenters. Many of these professions offer apprenticeships where you can gain practical skills while earning a wage. You may need to acquire some certifications, but these are typically less extensive and less expensive than earning a degree.

2. Sales Representatives: Many companies are willing to hire high school graduates for sales positions. These roles often include a base salary plus commissions based on your sales, so your earning potential can be substantial if you're a good salesperson.

3. Administrative Assistants: This role typically involves handling communication, scheduling meetings, and managing office logistics. It's a good point of entry into the corporate world and can offer valuable experience.

4. Military Service: Military service provides a career, training, and potential college tuition support. Before choosing this option, be sure to carefully consider the commitment involved.

5. Real Estate Agents: Becoming a real estate agent often only requires a certification and passing a licensing exam. There's sizable earning potential in this field, but it can be somewhat unpredictable because the market can fluctuate.

6. Customer Service Representatives: Companies in virtually all industries need customer service representatives to interact with customers and address their needs.

7. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs): After a short training program, you can start working as an EMT.

Remember that persistence and willingness to learn can go a long way no matter where you start. Many of these positions can provide paths to higher-level positions once you've gained some experience.
