High-paying jobs with only a high school diploma?

Not planning on going to college, so I want to know about any high-paying jobs I can get with just my high school diploma. Does anyone have info on industries or specific jobs that would hire at good rates?

Several high-paying job options require only a high school diploma.

1. Power Plant Operators: Power plant operators control and maintain the machinery used to generate electricity. No bachelor’s degree is required, but these jobs do require ample on-the-job training. While the mean annual wage is around $92,000, in some areas, these positions can offer six-figure salaries.

2. Transportation, Storage, and Distribution Managers: These positions involve overseeing transportation and storage procedures in various industries. The mean annual wage for this role is approximately $94,000.

3. Commercial Pilots: Commercial pilots fly and navigate airplanes or helicopters for companies that offer charter flights, rescue operations, or aerial photography. Though this job requires a high school diploma, pilots also need a commercial pilot’s license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The median annual salary is about $87,480.

4. Elevator and Escalator Installers and Repairers: These workers install, fix, and maintain elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and similar equipment. While no degree is required, a four-year apprenticeship program is often necessary. The mean annual wage of such workers is around $86,020.

5. Radiation Therapists: Radiation therapists operate machines that deliver radiation to patients diagnosed with cancer. They also monitor patients and adjust treatment plans as needed. Even though radiation therapists typically need a certificate or associate’s degree in radiation therapy, some roles only require a high school diploma and on-the-job training. The median annual wage is about $86,850.

6. First-Line Supervisors of Police and Detectives: This role involves directing and coordinating activities of members of the police force. The mean annual wage is approximately $96,450.

Keep in mind that even though these jobs don't require a college degree, they may still require specialized training or certification. Also, starting salaries may be significantly lower than the averages provided.
