How can I find work overseas right after high school?

I'm thinking of working abroad once I graduate high school. Does anyone know of good programs or opportunities for high school grads to work overseas? I'm open to short-term or long-term positions, any advice is appreciated!

Choosing to work abroad right after high schooling is an exciting decision that offers opportunities not just for personal growth but also for building invaluable soft skills like communication, adaptability, and problem-solving.

You might want to consider Au Pair programs, which are popular avenues for working overseas for high school graduates. These programs allow you to live with a host family in a foreign country, take care of the children, and perform basic household tasks. In return, you receive a stipend, free room and board, and often the opportunity to take language or other classes. Countries like France, Spain, and Germany have well-regulated Au Pair programs.

Volunteering can also be a great way to work abroad while contributing to a meaningful cause. Programs like Global Vision International (GVI) and International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) offer opportunities worldwide in areas like education, wildlife conservation, healthcare, and more.

If you're interested in teaching English, many countries like Japan, China, and Korea offer teaching positions through programs such as JET Programme and EPIK to individuals who are native English speakers, even if they don't have a background in education.

Working Holiday Visas (WHV) can provide another option for you - these allow young people to travel and work in a country for up to one year. Countries like Australia, New Zealand, and Canada have strong WHV programs.

Last, but not least, being an intern abroad can provide you with work experience in a professional setting. Companies like Intern Abroad HQ offer international internships in a wide variety of fields.

In each of these scenarios, ensure you research thoroughly on the visa requirements and program specifics in your preferred country. Be ready to embrace cultural differences, learn new skills, and embark on an enriching journey!
