Congratulations on starting your first job! This is a big step and it's great that you're seeking advice on how to navigate it successfully.

Do's:

1. Punctuality: Always show up on time, or better yet, early. This goes for not only attending your shifts, but also for meetings, tasks, or deadlines around your job responsibilities.

2. Effective Communication: If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Your employers and fellow employees are there to help. Also, if you're unable to attend work for any reason, inform your employer promptly.

3. Positive Attitude: Approach your work with a positive and cooperative spirit. This can make the experience more enjoyable and it also leaves a positive impression with your colleagues.

4. Dress Appropriately: Make sure you're aware of and adhere to the dress code. Typically, for part-time jobs, you'll wear a uniform or maintain a specific attire, but it's always better to check.

5. Take Feedback Constructively: Listen to the feedback given by your manager and colleagues, and make necessary changes. This is an important part of learning and growth in a job.

Don'ts:

1. Don't Overcommit: As a student, you must balance both your academics and job. So, don't overpromise and underdeliver. Be upfront with your hours availability.

2. Don't Neglect Schoolwork: Your job is important, but so are your studies. Make sure you are dedicating enough time to your homework and studying.

3. Don't Underestimate the Importance of Soft Skills: Communication, patience, teamwork, and problem-solving will be as essential in your job as hard skills. Make sure you're honing these skills.

4. Don't Be Scared to Voice Your Ideas: Even though it's your first job, don't hesitate to put forth your thoughts and ideas. Employers appreciate initiative and creativity.

5. Don't Neglect Your Self-Care: It's important to focus on your job, but don't forget to take care of your health, both physical and mental. Eat right, exercise, get plenty of sleep, and take time for recreation.

Your first job will be a valuable learning experience that sets the foundation for your future career endeavors. Remember to be professional, reliable, and willing to learn, and you'll do a great job! Good luck!
