Entry level job options for those right out of high school?

As someone about to graduate high school, I'm exploring job options for right after. What entry-level positions are available for recent high school graduates, and which industries would you recommend for someone starting fresh?

There are a plethora of entry-level jobs across various industries that a recent high school graduate can explore.

1. Retail: Retail jobs, such as Sales Associate or Cashier, are often entry-level and offer good customer service experience. It can be a great opportunity to start building skills in communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration.

2. Food Service: Jobs in the food service industry, such as being a Barista, Wait Staff, Host, or Fast Food Worker, often do not require a degree and can be a good stepping stone. These positions could lead to more advanced roles, like becoming a manager or supervisor.

3. Administrative: Office administrations like Receptionists, Data Entry clerks, or Admin Assistants typically require good organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer literacy but don't always require tertiary education.

4. Trade jobs: If you have specific skills or are willing to learn, trade jobs like Electrician apprentice, Plumber's helper, or Construction laborer can be highly rewarding and often pay well. Remember, these often require physical fitness, manual labor, and sometimes further certification.

5. Customer Service: Call Centers, Tech Support, or Customer Service Associate roles can be an excellent opportunity to hone your problem-solving and communication skillset.

6. Transportation: Delivery Drivers, Warehouse associates, or even becoming a local Tour Guide might be an interesting option if you enjoy being on the move.

Once you've gained some experience, you could consider jobs that have a clearer career progression, like sales roles, for instance, where you could work your way up from an entry-level position to a Sales Manager or lead a team.

Remember, select a job that is relevant to your interests and long-term career goals, keeping future growth prospects in mind too. Always consider what skills you can gain from a job and how it might benefit your career in the long run.
