Curious about Dallas Christian—what's it like?

I'm considering Dallas Christian College for its small size, but I'm not sure what to expect in terms of community and academics. Has anyone attended or know much about life and opportunities there?

Dallas Christian College (DCC) is indeed a very tight-knit community, largely due to its small student body. This allows for more faculty-student interaction and small class sizes, which many students appreciate. The class sizes often contribute to genuinely personalized education, as professors are generally more accessible and willing to provide assistance outside of class.

In terms of community, DCC is known for its inclusivity and friendly atmosphere. Since it's a religious institution, faith plays a critical role in campus life, with frequent chapel services and bible study groups for those who wish to participate. The students often form close bonds given shared religious beliefs and the smaller environment.

Academically, DCC offers a variety of bachelor's and associate degree programs. Some of them include Biblical studies, business, intercultural studies, psychology, and music. They also offer an adult and professional studies program for non-traditional students seeking higher education. DCC integrates Christian principles into their curriculum, so expect an emphasis on faith even in non-religious courses.

However, it's good to remember that the smaller size also means fewer options in terms of courses and majors compared to larger universities. Also, athletics and extracurricular activities might not be as abundant.

As for opportunities, DCC has service learning programs and internships that allow students to gain practical experience in their field of study. Some students have even pursued mission trips and ministry opportunities through the college.

While many students appreciate the close-knit community and faith-oriented education, it's essential to visit the campus, talk to current students, and understand more about the college's culture and values to see if it would be a good fit for you.
