Does Anyone Know About HBCUs in Maryland?

I'm interested in attending an HBCU and heard there are some in Maryland. Can anyone share information about them, such as what programs and extracurriculars they offer? It would be helpful for me as I begin to plan my applications.

Of course, happy to share details about the HBCUs in Maryland! There are four historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) located in Maryland:

1. Bowie State University: Bowie State is known for its strong programs in education, computer science, and business. The institution also offers an array of extracurricular activities ranging from athletics to Greek life, as well as professional and specialty clubs on campus. It's also the oldest HBCU in Maryland!

2. Coppin State University: Located in Baltimore, Coppin State has excellent academic programs in urban arts, nursing, and criminal justice. There are over 50 student-run clubs and organizations, including a very vibrant fraternity and sorority scene.

3. Morgan State University: Also based in Baltimore, Morgan State offers some great programs in engineering, architecture, management, and media broadcasting. The university also has more than 100 student organizations catering to a range of interests.

4. University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES): UMES, located in Princess Anne, offers strong programs in disciplines like Hospitality-Tourism Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management and Technology, and more.
