What's up with Georgia Tech's rank in engineering?

I've heard Georgia Tech has a strong engineering program, but not sure how it ranks nationally. Can anyone share how Georgia Tech stacks up against other top engineering schools? Trying to weigh my options for a solid engineering education.

Georgia Tech's College of Engineering is indeed noteworthy and consistently ranked amongst the top in the United States. According to U.S. News & World Report's 2025 rankings, it ranks fourth in the country for undergraduate engineering programs amongst schools where a doctorate is the highest degree (falling behind MIT, Stanford, and the University of California, Berkeley).

Notably, several of Georgia Tech's specific engineering programs also rank in the top 5 nationally. For instance, its industrial engineering and civil engineering programs are each ranked #1 in their respective fields, which demonstrates the school's depth of strength across various disciplines besides just the overall engineering program.

That being said, rankings are just one aspect of the decision process. It's crucial to consider factors like the school culture, available resources, opportunities for research or internships, and the likelihood of receiving financial aid. It can also be beneficial to reach out to current students or alumni for their insights on the program and their experience at Georgia Tech.
