Is MSOE in Milwaukee a strong engineering school?

I'm thinking about applying to the Milwaukee School of Engineering and would love to hear about others' experiences there. Is MSOE recognized for engineering, and what's the vibe like on campus?

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) has a strong reputation for its engineering programs. It's known for providing a rigorous, hands-on curriculum with a focus on applied learning. This prepares their graduates for not just theoretical knowledge, but the ability to tackle practical industry problems as well. For engineering, it offers a wide range of specialties, including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Software engineering among others.

In terms of campus life, it's a bit more academically focused, given the nature of the programs, but there's still a vibrant community. MSOE's campus is situated in downtown Milwaukee, which means students have easy access to city amenities like restaurants, shops, and cultural venues. The student body is relatively small, which can cultivate a tight-knit community where you can get to know peers and professors well.

Also, there are plenty of student organizations and clubs that cater to a wide range of interests, from professional groups that align with your engineering field to recreational clubs for hobbies and sports. From what I've gathered, many MSOE students appreciate the focus on preparing them for their future careers and the close-knit nature of the community. However, it's also important to note that academics can be intense and demand a strong work ethic.

Make sure you visit the campus if possible and speak with current students or alumni to get a feel for the social and academic aspects of MSOE. It’s always helpful to experience the environment first-hand before making a decision.
