Is Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles a good fit?

I'm considering applying to Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles and I'm curious about its reputation and student life. Is it considered a good school, and what has been your experience if you’ve visited or attended?

Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles is a highly regarded institution, particularly known for its nursing and health programs. As a private, Catholic liberal arts college, the university provides a well-rounded education with a strong foundation in general education in addition to the chosen major. The school has a strong commitment to social justice and service, which is deeply embedded in their curriculum and campus life.

Mount Saint Mary's has two campuses—the Chalon Campus in Brentwood and the Doheny Campus near Downtown LA. Both campuses offer a unique environment for students. Chalon provides stunning ocean and city views being nestled in the hills, whereas Doheny has a historical charm, being constructed around a Victorian mansion, and is also closer to the hustle and bustle of downtown LA.

Student life at Mount Saint Mary's is active, with numerous clubs, social organizations, and opportunities for service learning. Its small class sizes tend to allow for a close-knit community and personalized attention from professors. While not a large university, many students value the sense of community it provides.

As a women's college, it is also specifically designed to promote the empowerment of young women, which could be a key factor if you're interested in a supportive, female-centric environment. However, it’s important to note that the Weekend/Evening College and graduate programs are co-educational.

In terms of location, being based in Los Angeles provides many opportunities for internships and careers in a variety of fields—from the arts to healthcare to technology and more. Please remember, every student's fit and experience could be different based on one's goals, needs, and expectations.

If you're interested in Mount Saint Mary's, I would recommend reaching out to the admissions office or visiting the campus to get a feel for the environment and see if you could imagine yourself there for your college years.
