I'm really interested in music and heard Berklee is amazing, but I'm not sure what majors they offer. Do they have options outside of performance, like music production or writing?

Absolutely, Berklee College of Music offers a wide variety of music-related majors for students who are passionate about different aspects of the industry. Besides performance, which is indeed a major, they also have programs centered around music production, songwriting, and music business, amongst others. Here are few examples:

1. Music Production and Engineering: This major prepares students to master the technology and techniques necessary for a career in today's professional music production environment.

2. Songwriting: This program focuses on helping aspiring songwriters develop their skills in melody, harmony, and lyrics, while also teaching them how to effectively present their songs to the industry.

3. Music Business/Management: For those interested in the business side of the industry, this major provides comprehensive knowledge about the infrastructure of modern music industries, including distribution, A&R, marketing, touring, and more.

4. Music Therapy: This major can prepare you for a career empowering people through music in clinical settings.

5. Film Scoring: If you're interested in creating music for movies or other media, the film scoring department could be a great fit.

These are just a few examples of the majors offered at Berklee. They also offer degrees in specific instruments, voice, and several other specialized areas of music study.
