How's college life in Tennessee?

For anyone familiar with them, what is the college vibe like in Tennessee? I'm especially curious about campus culture, extracurriculars, and what students usually do for fun.

Tennessee is home to various colleges and universities, each with its unique campus culture, extracurricular opportunities, and recreational activities. Vanderbilt University in Nashville, University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and Rhodes College in Memphis are just a few examples.

Vanderbilt, for example, is known for its academic rigor and its focus on undergraduate education. The campus environment is both inclusive and collaborative. It's in Nashville, a music-filled city, so there's always a concert or music festival going on. Besides, the school hosts a lot of campus events, including its own music festival called Rites of Spring.

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is known for its strong sense of community, school spirit, and love for football. Tailgating at Neyland Stadium on game days is a big part of the college experience for many students here. Knoxville is also located near the Smoky Mountains, so outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting, and camping are quite popular.

Rhodes College, a small liberal arts college in Memphis, has a tight-knit community and small classes that foster strong relationships with professors. The campus is famously beautiful with a lot of Gothic architecture. Memphis is a culturally rich city known for its food (especially BBQ), music (Blues, Rock 'n Roll), museums, and festivals.

Extracurriculars at these colleges range from cultural and interest clubs, intramural sports, Greek life, research and academic organizations, community service groups, and much more.

Remember, the best way to understand a college's culture is to visit the campus, interact with current students or alumni, or attend virtual tours or student panels if available. What's most important is finding a school where you feel you can thrive academically and socially.
