Best Animation Universities to Consider

I'm passionate about animation and want to pursue it in college. What are some of the best universities that offer animation programs? I'm looking for schools with great support and facilities for animation students.

If you're interested in animation, there are a few universities that are known for having strong programs and resources for their students.

1. California Institute of the Arts (CalArts): This school has an extremely respected program and has produced many notable animators in the industry. They boast a faculty of working professionals and offer a BFA in Character Animation.

2. University of Southern California (USC): USC's School of Cinematic Arts hosts the John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts, which is highly regarded. They emphasize mastering the whole animation process, from concept to finished product.

3. Ringling College of Art and Design: They have a BFA in Computer Animation which has had graduates go on to work on prominent projects like 'Frozen' and 'Tangled'.

4. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): For a more East Coast option, RISD's Film/Animation/Video department has produced animators who worked on projects such as 'Moana'.

5. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD): SCAD offers both a BFA and MFA in Animation, with the opportunity to take classes across multiple disciplines and collaborate on projects. SCAD has strong ties with the animation industry and offers ample internship opportunities.

These schools are well-known for their animation programs, but remember to also consider other factors such as location, cost, culture, and fit. Ensuring the school is a good match for you overall is just as important as the strength of its animation program.
