Looking for universities in New York state!

I'm considering attending college in New York State but need help narrowing down my options. What universities in New York do you recommend, especially if I'm looking for a mix of academics and campus life?

There is quite a range of universities in New York that offer a great balance of academics and campus life. Here are some options depending on your interest and academic intentions:

1. Columbia University: Located in the heart of Manhattan, Columbia offers a vibrant academic environment and bustling campus life. It's well-regarded for a broad spectrum of majors and has an overarching commitment to student diversity and inclusion.

2. New York University: NYU does not have campus life in the traditional sense as the entire city becomes its campus. If you prefer an urban experience and you're interested in programs like Business (Stern School of Business is highly ranked), or Film & Television, NYU could be a good fit.

3. Cornell University: A part of the Ivy League, it's set in the more tranquil environment of Ithaca. The university is known for its strong engineering, hotel management, and industrial & labor relations programs. Campus life is pretty much happening too, with many clubs and activities.

4. University at Buffalo: This is SUNY’s largest and most comprehensive campus. It offers an array of programs and has a vibrant research scene. Campus life features Division I athletics and abundant opportunities for student engagement.

5. Binghamton University: This is one of SUNY's top-rated institutions. It boasts rigorous academics, a robust research program, and active campus life with a lot of club and intramural sports.

Each university has unique aspects and depends highly on what you're looking for specifically; however, these universities offer a dynamic blend of academics and campus involvement. Be sure to visit if you can, and do more research on each university's specific offerings and campus culture to see where you might best fit in!
