What's the campus life like at UNC Chapel Hill?

I'm really curious about student life on the UNC Chapel Hill campus. What's the social scene like, and how are the clubs and activities? I'm considering applying and want to know more about life outside of academics.

UNC Chapel Hill's campus life is vibrant and diverse, with many opportunities for involvement. With over 800 clubs and organizations, students can usually find something that lines up with their personal interests. These clubs range from academic and career-oriented clubs, to cultural organizations, sports, and arts groups.

There's a large Greek life presence, with about 18% percent of students involved in fraternities and sororities, but it doesn't dominate the social scene. Those who aren't involved still find a plethora of socializing opportunities.

Speaking of sports, as a student, you'll likely quickly be drawn into the community's passionate support of the Tar Heels, particularly in basketball. Watching games, especially against their rival, Duke, is a shared pastime that brings the community together.

The surrounding town of Chapel Hill also adds to the campus life. It's a classic college town with restaurants, shops, and music venues. There are also various festivals and events that take place throughout the year, adding to the community feel.
