How are the majors at TXST?

I'm considering Texas State University for college, but I'm unsure about their major offerings. Do they have a good variety, and are there any strong programs worth noting? Any current students' experiences would be super helpful!

Texas State University indeed offers a wide range of majors, about 200 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs. The school has strengths in several areas, but remember that what's "best" depends much on where your own interests and strengths lie.

In the sciences, the university is known for its robust Geography, Aquatic Biology, and Wildlife Biology programs. In the human sciences, its programs in Physical Therapy, Nursing, and Respiratory Therapy are recognized regionally.

In the humanities and social sciences, TXST has strong programs in Mass Communication and Journalism, and its Social Work and Psychology programs have notable faculty and research opportunities. A perk of being a liberal arts student at Texas State is that the campus hosts an undergraduate research conference annually, which is a terrific chance to present work and interact with other scholars.

In the business realm, the McCoy College of Business Administration is recognized for offering a mix of business disciplines, such as Accounting, Finance, and Management.

Visual and Performing arts is also an area where Texas State University shines, especially in programs like Theatre and Dance.

Lastly, one burgeoning area is the school's Sound Recording Technology program, which is one of few of its kind at public universities in Texas.

This is just an overview, so I definitely encourage you to dig deeper into the programs that catch your eye! And remember, your experience in a program will also highly depend on your engagement with classes, professors, research opportunities, internships, and so on. All the best with your search!
