What is UC San Diego's acceptance rate like?

I'm really interested in applying to UC San Diego and want to know more about how tough it is to get in. Does anyone know what their acceptance rate is and if it's changed recently?

UC San Diego is considered one of the more selective public universities in California. As of recent data, UCSD's acceptance rate was approximately 27%. However, acceptance rates can change year-to-year based on many factors, such as the number of applications received and the academic profile of the incoming class.

It's worth noting that while acceptance rates provide an overview of a school's selectivity, they should not be viewed in isolation. Admission decisions are based on various factors, including academic performance, extracurricular involvements, leadership roles, and personal essays. UC San Diego will look at your GPA, the rigor of your high school courses, and personal insight questions to make their decision. Due to its test-blind policy, SAT or ACT scores are currently not in consideration.

Understanding these aspects can give you a clearer picture of your chances of admittance, rather than solely relying on admission rates. It's great to be informed about these statistics, but bear in mind that they might not fully predict your chance of admission. Best of luck with your application!
