Getting to know Georgia Institute of Technology's financial aid options?

So I'm considering Georgia Tech, but I'm kinda worried about the cost. Does anyone have experience with their financial aid packages? How generous are they, and are there any specific scholarships I should look into?

Georgia Tech is known for offering a range of financial aid packages to its students and is generally considered to be quite generous. Aid can come in a variety of forms including grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans. Financial needs of the applicant are the primary basis but there are also certain merit-based scholarships.

One of the most prominent ones is the President's Scholarship Program (PSP), a merit-based scholarship exclusive to Georgia residents. Additionally, there's the HOPE/Zell Miller scholarship geared towards Georgia students who have demonstrated academic achievement.

Out-of-state students, meanwhile, can look into the Scheller Dean’s Scholarship which provides a $10,000 per year towards tuition. Georgia Tech also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program which can help make tuition more affordable for out-of-state students.

Remember to fill out your FAFSA as soon as possible - the school uses this data to determine your eligibility for some types of financial aid. Each scholarship and financial aid program has unique criteria and deadlines, so you should ensure to meet the eligibility requirements and apply within the time window.

Lastly, you can always reach out to the school's financial aid office. They're usually quite helpful and responsive to queries, so don't hesitate to approach them with any specific or additional questions you may have.
