Which colleges are located in Knoxville?

Knoxville seems like a cool place to go to school, but I don't know much about the colleges there. Could someone tell me what the college scene is like in Knoxville?

Absolutely. Knoxville, Tennessee actually has several colleges to consider.

The most well-known is probably the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. It's a public research university that is the flagship campus of the state's university system and it offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Then, there are smaller colleges such as Carson-Newman University, which is a private Baptist college situated in Jefferson City, but it's near Knoxville and offers undergraduate, graduate, and adult programs.

Maryville College is another liberal arts college in nearby Maryville, and has a strong emphasis on academics, leadership and service.

Pellissippi State Community College is another option, and it's one of the largest community colleges in the state.

Finally, the South College, which is a private institution, offers more career-focused, flexible courses. It provides degrees in fields like health science, business, and tech.

Each of these institutions provide different academic styles, campus experiences and opportunities for students, so it might be worth exploring each one to see which suits your needs and interests the most.
