How is the tuition at Alfred State?

I'm trying to figure out if Alfred State is affordable for me. Does anyone have details on the current tuition and whether it varies significantly for in-state and out-of-state students?

In general, the cost of tuition at Alfred State College is one aspect that you'll definitely need to consider when planning for your college expenses. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the reported in-state tuition and fees for an undergraduate student is around $8,490. For out-of-state students, the tuition and fees amount to approximately $15,820.

These figures, however, only reflect the direct cost of your education. They don't include other expenses such as room and board, books, personal costs, and other fees, which when added together can significantly increase your financial burden. Room and board for instance is approximately $14,600 per year.

Remember that these figures are subject to change and it's always a good idea to check the school's official website to get the most accurate and up-to-date information.

And don't forget financial aid - many students don't end up paying the full sticker price of tuition. Be sure to fill out the FAFSA and check out Alfred State's scholarship options to potentially offset these costs. Alfred State also participates in the SUNY Tuition Credit program for New York residents whose family's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) is $85,000 or less, which can help reduce tuition to a more manageable amount.
