Acceptance Rate at UArizona

I'm curious about the University of Arizona's acceptance rate. How selective is it really, and what kind of GPA and test scores should I aim for to have a good chance? Would love some insights from current students!

The University of Arizona, also known as UArizona or UA, is considered moderately selective. According to the most recent data, UArizona has an acceptance rate of approximately 85%. This relatively high acceptance rate opens the door to many applicants, but these stats alone don't guarantee admission, as the university also considers factors such as GPA, coursework rigor, and extracurricular activities.

As for GPA and test scores, there are certain averages and ranges you could aim for to be a competitive applicant. As per the available information, the middle 50% of UArizona applicants have a high school GPA between approximately 3.3 and 4.0. You should aim for at least a 3.3 GPA; however, a higher GPA will bolster your application and increase your chances of acceptance.

For standardized tests, keep in mind that UArizona is test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle. This means SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission, but you can still choose to submit them if you feel they accurately reflect your academic capabilities or can enhance your application. If you do submit, the middle 50% SAT score range for UArizona is between approximately 1130 and 1310, and the middle 50% ACT score range is between approximately 22 and 29.

Remember that the stats I mentioned are averages and ranges, not strict cutoffs. UArizona also evaluates the rigor of your course load, so taking AP or honors courses can work in your favor. Extracurricular activities and leadership roles can also positively impact your application.

In my experience, the more comprehensive picture you can paint of yourself as a well-rounded and devoted student, the higher your chances of admission. Good luck with your application process!
