What colleges are part of the Common App?

As someone who's starting the college application process, I'm looking to streamline my applications. Which schools are part of the Common App? It would help a lot with planning my application efforts.

The Common Application is used by over 900 colleges and universities worldwide. This includes a wide variety of institutions, from small liberal arts colleges to large public universities, located in various regions across the United States and internationally. Some notable institutions that accept the Common App include Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, and many others.

However, be aware that while these colleges participate in the Common App, many also have their own school-specific supplementary sections that you will need to complete. These often include additional essays or short answer questions.

Here's a straightforward way to see which colleges are part of the Common App. You can directly visit the Common Application website and click on the “College Search” tab. You can search for individual colleges there, or you can choose to display all member colleges.

Always remember that the Common Application is only one method of applying to college. A considerable number of colleges use other application systems such as the Coalition Application or have their own stand-alone application systems, like the University of California (UC) system.
