What are the best colleges for veterans?

My dad is a veteran, and I might be eligible for some veteran-related scholarships. Which colleges are known for being particularly supportive of veterans and their families, whether through financial aid or specific programs?

There are several colleges with dedicated programs and resources specifically to help veterans transition back to civilian life and to support their families.

The University of South Florida (USF) is considered to be one of the best for veteran support. They offer the USF Veterans Success Program, featuring programs such as accelerated degree programs or tutoring targeted at veterans.

Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., is another great option. It's home to the Georgetown University Veterans Office, which offers comprehensive resources for student veterans, to include counseling, support for transitioning into civilian life and academic support.

Syracuse University is another notable school because of its dedication to veterans. The Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse provides a variety of resources, like entrepreneurial training and career training and preparation.

Lastly, the University of Southern California has a strong veteran community and a range of resources for veterans. They have a dedicated Veterans Certification Office and maintain a vibrant Veteran's Association.

Many schools also take part in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which provides additional funding to veterans beyond what the GI Bill covers. The aforementioned schools are some examples, but there are many out there that value and provide for veterans and their families.

Remember to check out specific benefits, like Chapter 35 benefits, that you might be eligible for as the child of a veteran. It's always advisable to reach out to the schools' dedicated veterans offices for the most up-to-date and comprehensive resources and programs.
