Advice on CSU Fullerton's campus life and academics?

I'm considering applying to CSU Fullerton and would love to hear from anyone who's familiar with the campus atmosphere and academic offerings. How's the student life there?

CSU Fullerton, also known as Cal State Fullerton, is a large public university that provides a variety of experiences and opportunities to its students. With a student population of over 40,000, it certainly offers the resources and diversity that come with a school of its size, while still striving to maintain an involved and interactive campus.

From an academic perspective, CSU Fullerton is known for its strong business program; the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics is the largest accredited business school on the West Coast. That aside, the university offers dozens of undergraduate and graduate degrees across a variety of disciplines, such as science, arts, education, and health. You also have the opportunity to engage in research projects led by faculty, or even propose your own.

Now, talking about campus life: CSU Fullerton has a very active student body. There are over 350 student clubs and organizations to get involved in, ranging from academic honor societies to sports groups, cultural clubs, and community service organizations. The campus also hosts numerous events like concerts, festivals, and guest speakers throughout the year which greatly enhance the student experience.

If you're sports-inclined, you'll be pleased to know that CSU Fullerton is part of NCAA Division I in the Big West Conference, with strong showings in various sports, particularly baseball. The games often bring together a large number of students who showcase their school spirit with enthusiasm.

However, do note that CSU Fullerton is a primarily commuter school, meaning many students live off-campus and commute for classes. While this can lead to less of a traditional "college town" atmosphere, there are still vibrant communities within the university, especially if you take the initiative to get involved.

Lastly, the location of the school in sunny Southern California means plenty of outdoor activities (like beaches and hiking trails) are easily accessible. It also offers solid opportunities for internships and connections being located near LA and Orange County.

Remember to tour the campus (if possible) or attend virtual offerings to get a personal feel for the environment. Best of luck with your decision!
