What colleges have the prettiest campuses?

I'm starting to think about where I want to apply, and I'm really interested in schools with beautiful campuses. Any suggestions on colleges known for having some of the most stunning campuses? Looking for recommendations that might be a little off the beaten path.

Definitely! Though beauty can be very subjective, there are several colleges that regularly find their way onto "most beautiful campus" lists, and might be considered a little less mainstream.

First up, Berry College in Rome, Georgia, which is officially recognized as the largest campus in the world, with over 27,000 acres of fields, forests, and an incredible Gothic-style chapel that gives it an old-world charm that’s hard to beat.

Then there's Scripps College in Claremont, California. It's a small liberal arts women's college that is part of the Claremont Colleges consortium. Its Mediterranean design, lush gardens and Californian mountain views make it a gorgeous place to study.

Another institution worth noting is Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. It's renowned for its rural setting and Gothic architecture. The college also features a 10-foot wide "Middle Path" that goes through the heart of campus, bordered by trees and historic buildings.

If you're interested in a coastal vibe, you might consider College of Charleston in South Carolina. It is located in one of the oldest and most charming cities in the U.S., and the campus is rich in historic southern charm with Spanish moss-covered trees and grand antebellum buildings.

In the Pacific Northwest, Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon is nestled among towering trees and features views of Mount Hood. It's a great choice if you're an outdoors lover, given its close proximity to both the ocean and the mountains.

Finally, for a more urban campus, consider the University of Chicago. Nestled in the Hyde Park neighborhood, the campus is a mix of modern and Gothic architecture, and it boasts numerous quiet courtyards for studying.

Remember though, while a beautiful campus is a nice bonus, it's also crucial to consider other aspects such as academics, student life, and financial aid when choosing a college.
