What's Bryn Mawr's campus like?

I'm considering applying to Bryn Mawr and was wondering about the campus environment and overall vibe. Is it as beautiful as people say, and how's the campus life?

Bryn Mawr College is consistently praised for its beautiful campus, which reflects a mix of collegiate gothic and English country architecture. Many students refer to it as a small "bubble" or an "academic haven" due to its lush gardens, stone buildings, and well-maintained grounds that offer a serene setting for studying.

The campus is sizable for a small college, featuring plenty of green spaces for relaxation and recreation, including an outdoor amphitheater perfect for studying or chill-time on warm, sunny days. There are also some iconic spots such as the Old Library, often hailed as one of the most aesthetically pleasing college libraries.

Moreover, the campus buildings are adorned with beautiful stained-glass details and ivy in an array of colors, depending on the season. Even though Bryn Mawr's campus is near a major city (Philadelphia), it feels very tranquil and removed from city life.

Campus life is typically very tight-knit and oriented towards fostering an inclusive community. The tradition of self-government is strong, and students have a significant voice in shaping the academic, residential, and co-curricular aspects of their lives at the college.

Many students also appreciate the close relationship with the other colleges in the Tri-College Consortium (Haverford and Swarthmore), and the Quaker Consortium (University of Pennsylvania). Attending events, taking classes, and participating in activities at these schools can further enrich the Bryn Mawr experience.

Do keep in mind that the focus on academics is intense, and students often describe the environment as very studious. Still, there's also a solid emphasis on forming deep and meaningful connections, participating in clubs and on-campus events, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

In a nutshell, Bryn Mawr provides a picturesque and supportive environment for learning with plenty of opportunities for engagement both on and off-campus.
