Experience at Old Dominion University in Virginia?

Does anyone attend or know someone who goes to Old Dominion University in Virginia? I'd love to hear about the campus life, academic programs, and any fun traditions. I'm trying to build a list of potential schools to apply to.

As someone who has had interactions with students and alumni from Old Dominion University, I can tell you that it's generally known for its strong programs in the STEM, healthcare, and business fields. Particularly, its Engineering and Health Sciences programs stand out. In terms of academic intensity, one common theme I've heard is that professors are committed to their disciplines and are willing to assist students who reach out and show initiative.

When it comes to campus life, many students are quite engaged with various activities. The school is host to a wide array of clubs and organizations; something to accommodate nearly any interest you might have, from student government to sororities and fraternities, to special interest and cultural clubs. There are also numerous intramural sports teams to join.

One fun tradition that comes to mind is the Homecoming Parade; it's apparently one of the standout moments of the year. There's also a great deal of school spirit to be found at Monarchs' basketball and football games.

Lastly, while not a tradition per se, the school's proximity to the beach can't be overlooked. It provides a unique environment for outdoor activities and hangouts when you're in need of some downtime.
