What is the current ranking of Michigan State University?

I'm interested in Michigan State because of its programs, but I'd like to know more about its ranking. Does its ranking fluctuate much and how do they measure these rankings?

University rankings can vary by source, as each ranking system uses a different methodology, focusing on various factors such as student retention rate, graduation rate, financial resources, faculty resources, student selectivity, alumni giving, and many more. It's important to note that a higher ranking school doesn't necessarily mean that it's the best fit for you or that it will provide the best education for your specific interests or aptitudes.

As for Michigan State University, as of 2024 according to U.S. News and World Report, it's ranked #21 in national universities. This means it's in the top 25 out of over 1300 universities. Note that these rankings are updated annually, so there might be slight fluctuations from year to year based on changes in the aforementioned factors.

Ultimately, while rankings can provide a general idea about a university's overall quality, they should not be the only guideline you use when selecting a college. It's equally important to consider factors such as course content, faculty, campus culture, location, extracurricular activities, and internship/job opportunities. Remember, the best school for you is one that fits your academic and personal goals, regardless of its ranking.
