Benefits of attending the University of Missouri Kansas City?

I'm looking into the University of Missouri Kansas City and trying to assess if it's a good fit for me. What are some benefits of attending this university, in terms of academics and lifestyle?

University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) offers a number of benefits which might make it a good fit for you, both in terms of academics and lifestyle.

Academically, UMKC has a diverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs with more than 125 different areas of study. The university is especially well-known for its programs in Business, Health Professions, Visual and Performing Arts, and Engineering. It also has a low student to faculty ratio, currently at 14:1, ensuring personalized attention and the opportunity for frequent interaction with faculty members. UMKC also has strong research programs, providing many opportunities for students to engage in hands-on research early on, regardless of your major.

Lifestyle-wise, UMKC is in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, providing you all the perks of city life - rich culture, live music scenes, delicious food, and sports events. Plus, Kansas City is known for its affordability in comparison to other major cities. The campus is just near the Country Club Plaza, a commercial hub with boutiques, restaurants, and regular events. If you're an outdoorsy person, the city offers plenty of public parks and nature trails.

The campus community is also very engaging. With more than 300 student organizations, there are numerous opportunities for involvement outside the classroom which allows students to pursue their interests and build connections. The university offers a range of athletics and recreational outlets too, with 16 varsity sports teams and many intramural and club sports.

Keep in mind, however, the best way to see if a school is a good fit is by experiencing it in-person if you have the ability to do so. I would recommend visiting the campus, arranging a tour, or scheduling a virtual visit if possible. You should also consider talking to current students and faculty to get a better understanding of what it's really like to attend UMKC. The university can provide contact info for students or faculty members who are able to speak with prospective students.
