Thoughts on UMiami Engineering program?

I'm interested in engineering and heard about the program at the University of Miami. Does anyone know what it's like in terms of professors, campus resources, or job placement after graduation? Curious if it's a good choice.

The University of Miami offers several concentrations in engineering, including Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, just to name a few. One of the strong points about the program is it's very hands-on, giving students real-world practical experiences through internships and co-ops, as well as laboratories and design projects.

UMiami's College of Engineering is known for small class sizes that foster closer interactions between professors and students. This is very critical especially in an intensive field like Engineering. The professors are not only distinguished in their respective disciplines, but they're also committed to helping their students succeed.

For campus resources, there is the College of Engineering-Johnson & Johnson 3-D Printing Collaborative Laboratory, where students can develop their skills in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing. The college also does a good job of assisting students with internships, research opportunities, and other experiential learning opportunities.

Concerning job placement after graduation, the college's career services are quite supportive, offering resources such as career fairs, networking and workshop events, and one-on-one career advising. They also provide support for finding internships and job opportunities in the engineering field, sharpening interview skills, and refining resumes.

Of course, where you choose to go should ultimately fit your personal and academic preferences such as location, campus culture, and financial aid, among others. I recommend reaching out to current students or alumni to get a firsthand account of their experiences, or arranging a campus visit if you haven't done so. You can use that opportunity to meet with faculty, tour the engineering facilities, and get a feel for the campus culture.
