Is the University of San Diego a good fit for business majors?

I've heard good things about USD's business program, but I'm not sure if it's right for me. Does anyone have insights into their curriculum and internship opportunities? How's the overall vibe at the University of San Diego?

The University of San Diego does indeed have a strong business program, known as the School of Business. What stands out about their curriculum is the emphasis on not just technical skills, but also leadership, entrepreneurship, and ethics. The MBA program offers several concentrations, including Marketing, Finance, and International Business, among others, to accommodate various student interests.

Internship opportunities are a key strength of USD's business program. The Career Development Center and the School of Business work together to assist students in finding internships that fit their interests and career goals. They foster strong relationships with many local and national companies, so the opportunities are varied and plentiful. Many students have interned at well-known companies, which can be an invaluable stepping stone in their career.

As for the overall vibe at USD, it's generally described as collaborative and inclusive. The campus is picturesque and has a close-knit community. It's located on a hill, offering stunning views of San Diego, and it's near downtown and the beach. This makes it a strong hub for social activities as well.

But while we're discussing fit, remember it's also important for you to visit the campus (if possible) or explore it virtually, attend information sessions or webinars, and speak to current students or alumni to get a firsthand understanding of the university culture. Remember that while rankings and curriculum are important, your personal comfort and alignment with the school's values should also play a crucial role in your decision.
