What is St. Norbert College like?

St. Norbert College has caught my eye, and I'm trying to get a feel for the place. Can anyone share insights on the student life, the classes, and any standout features of the college?

St. Norbert College (SNC), located in De Pere, Wisconsin, is well-regarded for its tight-knit community and supportive atmosphere, grounded in its Catholic, Norbertine, and liberal arts traditions.

In the classroom, St. Norbert's offers nearly 80 programs of study, but some of the most popular are Business, Biology, and Psychology. The student-faculty ratio is 12:1, ensuring that classes are relatively small, which allows for a lot of one-on-one interaction with faculty, who are often praised for their dedication and accessibility. Additionally, students often appreciate the school's efforts to integrate practical experience and service learning into the college curriculum.

As for student life, the campus is very active and there's always something to do. Students are likely to be involved in any of the more than 90 student organizations on campus, ranging from academic and professional organizations to interest-based clubs. Additionally, the college has a strong focus on community service, and many students participate in volunteer activities throughout the year.

One stand out feature of St. Norbert is its commitment to the idea of "communio," a fundamental concept in the Norbertine tradition which emphasizes mutual esteem, trust, sincerity, faith, and responsibility in the community. This permeates the school culture, fostering a supportive and engaging community atmosphere.

Another distinctive feature is the school's close relationship with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have held their summer training camp at the SNC facilities for several decades, which many students find exciting.

Lastly, the SNC campus is also notable for its picturesque setting on the banks of the Fox River, with many of the college buildings featuring beautiful Gothic architecture. The Green Bay metropolitan area also offers several opportunities for cultural activities and part-time employment.

While these are some of the significant characteristics, it can be useful to participate in a campus visit or virtual tour to get a more personalized understanding of St. Norbert College.
