Any recommendations for universities in Colorado Springs?

I'm looking into universities in Colorado Springs and would like to know which ones are worth visiting or applying to. Do any of them have strong programs in environmental science? What's student life like there?

Certainly, there are several universities in Colorado Springs that might pique your interest. If you're keen on environmental science, then the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) should be at the top of your list. UCCS has a well respected geography and environmental science program, and was ranked among the top Western regional universities by U.S. News and World Report.

UCCS also has a reputation for a lively student life. The university encourages its students to take part in the many clubs and activities it offers. UCCS includes a Recreation and Wellness Center on-campus, mountain trails nearby and a popular event known as 'Mountain Lion Madness' which happens every fall during Homecoming. The town of Colorado Springs itself is surrounded by natural beauty, with attractions like Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods a short distance away - perfect for an environmental science student eager to explore the great outdoors.

Apart from UCCS, another option is Colorado College. It's a private liberal arts college renowned for its innovative "Block Plan" where students immerse themselves in one course at a time. Colorado College offers an esteemed environmental program which can be tailored to your interests, whether that's policy, sustainable agriculture, geology or biology.

Just like UCCS, Colorado College has a vibrant student life. Due to the college's unique academic structure, students have free time to participate in extracurricular activities, sports, and outdoor adventures. The college is at the base of Pike's Peak, so nature-loving students will find plenty to do.

Talk to current students, visit campuses if possible, and see which school feels like the right fit for you and can best meet your academic needs. Good luck with your search!
