What Can You Study at Oakton College?

I'm starting to research colleges and came across Oakton College. I'm curious about what kind of degree programs they offer and if they have strong programs in specific areas. Any alumni or current students here who can share their experience?

Oakton Community College is a two-year public college offering both credit and non-credit programs. The largest categories of study at Oakton are Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities; Health Professions and Related Programs; and Business, Management, Marketing, and related support services.

They offer Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees as well as certificate programs. Certificates are somewhat specialized, like the Computer Networking and Systems degree for those interested in IT, or the Health Information Technology degree for those interested in the medical field.

A lot of students choose Oakton with the intention of transferring to a four-year college or university afterwards. As for your question about strengths, Oakton's health-related programs such as Nursing and Physical Therapy are particularly well-regarded.

Oakton's academic divisions include Business and Career Technologies; Mathematics and Technologies; and Humanities & Health Careers, among others. Depending on what you are interested in, you may find their offerings suitable for your career goals.

Remember, the best way to decide on a college is to visit or reach out to their admissions office to get a feel for the college culture and ask specific questions about their programs.
