Tennessee State University Majors: Which Ones Stand Out?

What are the standout majors at Tennessee State University? I'm looking into applying there and want to know what programs are well-regarded or unique at the school. Particularly interested in STEM fields.

Tennessee State University (TSU) has a variety of strong programs, especially in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Here are a few areas where TSU particularly shines.

The Aerospace Studies program at TSU is a highly unique program. It incorporates Air Force ROTC and aims to train students to become commissioned officers in the United States Air Force. The program blends military science courses with normal college study.

TSU is also quite known for its Engineering programs. The College of Engineering is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and offers degrees in Architectural, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Their Mechanical Engineering program is a standout, with extensive research opportunities and sophisticated laboratories.

Another standout program falls under the College of Agriculture. TSU hosts the only Agricultural Sciences program in Nashville, and it is regarded for its research in agricultural practices and sustainable food systems. The program offers both traditional agriculture courses and study into cutting-edge agricultural technology.

TSU's Computer Science program is worth highlighting as well. It provides a comprehensive curriculum where students are exposed to software development, databases, computer networks, artificial intelligence, and more. The program emphasizes real-world applications of computer science and encourages internships.

Remember, it's not just about choosing a "strong" program but finding the right fit, where your interests and the university's strengths align. With that in mind, consider planning a visit, seeking out current students or alumni in your fields of interest, or reaching out to the admissions office for more information.
