How many students are at the University of Minnesota?

I'm looking into universities and I'm curious about the size of the student body at the University of Minnesota. Does anyone know how many students are currently enrolled there? Is it considered a large campus?

The University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, the main campus of the university system, is one of the biggest public universities in the United States in terms of enrollment. As of Fall 2023, the enrollment at the Twin Cities campus is approximately 55,000 students, with about 40,000 undergrads and 15,000 graduate students. This certainly classifies the University of Minnesota as a large institution.

In terms of campus size, UMN Twin Cities spans three areas in Minneapolis and Saint Paul: the East Bank, the West Bank, and the Saint Paul campus. If you're considering the University of Minnesota, it's essential to also remember the sheer geographical size of this campus. Not only will you be part of a large community of students, but you'll also be navigating a large campus with a wide variety of resources, facilities, and neighborhoods. In other words, there are numerous opportunities to find your niche academically, socially, and geographically.
