What are some good paying jobs I can get right out of high school?

I'm finishing up high school soon and I'm not planning on going to college immediately. I'm curious about what good paying jobs are available with just a high school diploma. Any recommendations or personal experiences? Would love to hear how others started out.

There are actually many well-paying job opportunities for individuals who hold a high school diploma. Here are some possibilities:

1. Commercial Driver: If you get a commercial driving license (CDL), you can drive trucks, buses, and similar vehicles. The training typically only takes a couple of months. Some companies even offer training as part of the job.

2. Customer Service Representative: While this isn't the highest paying job, it can be a stepping stone to higher paying roles in sales or management. Also, you can potentially earn commissions, depending on the industry.

3. Construction and Building Inspector: With some on-the-job training, a high school diploma can qualify you to inspect buildings and structures. It's a job that can provide a good income, and there's a constant need for new inspectors as infrastructure projects continue to expand.

4. Skilled Trades: Skilled trades, like plumbing, electrician work, or HVAC repair, can provide solid incomes. These trades typically require you to complete an apprenticeship, but the pay during this period is usually decent and increases as you gain more experience and complete more certifications.

5. Aircraft Mechanic: If you’re interested in aviation, consider becoming an aircraft mechanic. The pay is competitive, and though you will need special certification, there are vocational programs that can take less time than a 4-year college degree.

Remember, pathways to success can vary greatly between individuals. If you're not planning to attend college immediately, it's crucial to know what career you're interested in and then acquire the necessary training or certifications. Starting a job right out of high school can give you valuable experience and skills which can be beneficial should you decide to pursue further studies down the line.
