Is St. Anselm University a good choice for pre-med?

I'm interested in pursuing a pre-med track and was wondering if St. Anselm University has a strong program for that. How is the support there for pre-med students?

St. Anselm University has a good reputation for its pre-medical studies. They offer a pre-medical program, which includes guidance from pre-medical advisors who have a wealth of experience helping students navigate the pre-med track. These advisors can offer support in terms of course selection, medical school applications, preparing for MCAT, and procuring relevant extracurriculars and internships.

One of the unique aspects of St. Anselm's approach to pre-med is that you're not locked into a specific major - you can choose any major while taking the course requirements necessary for medical school. This allows for a well-rounded education and offers students the chance to pursue their varied interests.

St. Anselm University also has a solid track record for medical school placements. However, if you're looking for a larger research university with a major medical center attached, St. Anselm might not be the best option—it's a smaller, liberal arts-focused institution.

Another advantage of St. Anselm University is the emphasis they place on community service, which is often seen favorably by medical schools. It has a thriving culture of service and gives students ample opportunities to volunteer, which not only helps fulfill med school requirements, but also allows students to determine if a helping profession is right for them.

Of course, for any prospective student, visiting campus (if possible), talking to current students and faculty in the program, or attending a virtual information session can also give a unique perspective into their pre-med program. Just be sure to thoroughly research to ensure that you feel it would be a good fit for you.
