What is the acceptance rate at St. Bonaventure University?

I'm trying to gauge my chances of getting into St. Bonaventure University. Can anyone share what their acceptance rate is and maybe a bit about the application process if you've been through it?

St. Bonaventure University, similar to many other institutions, undergoes changes in its acceptance rate annually. As of the most recent data available, the acceptance rate is approximately 81%, making it a moderately selective institution.

When it comes to applying, St. Bonaventure operates on a rolling admissions schedule, which means they consider applications as they come in, rather than having a hard deadline. It’s in your best interest to apply as early as possible. You'll need to submit an application, either through the Common App or directly through the school's website.

In addition to your application, you'll also need to submit your high school transcript and recommendations. If you choose to submit standardized test scores, that would be an addition to your application, although St. Bonaventure has a test-optional policy. There's also no application fee for domestic students, which is a nice bonus!

In terms of what they look for, the average GPA of admitted students is around 3.4 on a 4.0 scale. Extracurriculars can also play a role especially if they demonstrate leadership or commitment over time. St. Bonaventure values community service due to its Franciscan heritage, so volunteering or community involvement could be seen as a positive factor in your application.

Other factors such as your personal statement and recommendation letters can also contribute to making your application stronger overall by highlighting aspects that aren't showcased in the rest of your application such as personal growth, skills, and characteristics.

Please remember that while acceptance rates can be useful for getting a sense of the selectivity of a school, each applicant's strengths and experiences are individually considered. This means your likelihood of admission may be different from the general acceptance rate.
