Experience at Northeastern University

I'm considering applying to Northeastern University and would love to hear about the student experience there. How's the campus vibe, and what opportunities are there for extracurriculars and co-ops?

Northeastern University is well-known for its strong co-op program, which is systemically integrated into the academic calendar and truly forms a key part of the college experience. By the end of their time at Northeastern, majority of the students would have undergone at least two six-month full-time co-ops. It's an excellent opportunity to garner real-world work experience, enhance your resume, and potentially figure out your career trajectory. The co-op program also contributes to a high job placement rate for graduates.

As for extracurriculars, you'll find a hugely diverse selection. The university has more than 600 student organizations catering to interests ranging from creative writing to environmental activism. This helps in nurturing a vibrant and active student body despite periods of students being away for co-ops.

The vibrancy extends to the general campus vibe as well. Northeastern is located in the heart of Boston, which is a bustling college town offering a slew of cultural, recreational, and academic opportunities. The campus itself is a mix of modern and traditional architecture, with lots of green space for studying, socializing, or simply taking a break.

The student body is often characterized as ambitious, career-oriented, and diverse, partly a result of the university's strong emphasis on co-op learning and international experiences.
