What are high paying jobs right after high school?

I'm considering entering the workforce straight out of high school and am curious about what high paying jobs are available that don't require a college degree. Any recommendations or experiences with different industries?

While it's true that many high-paying jobs do require a degree, there are definitely options out there for people looking to enter the workforce straight out of high school. Don't forget that the ultimate income potential for many of these jobs can be significantly increased with experience and further training down the line. Here are a few possibilities:

1. Postal Service Worker: Although it might not be the first job that comes to mind, postal workers can earn a quite comfortable wage, and all that’s typically required is a high school diploma.

2. Oil Rig Operator: Jobs in the oil industry can often pay well, though you should be aware that the conditions can be tough and the hours long.

3. Electrician/Plumber: These skilled trades are always in demand and offer apprenticeship programs to help you start earning immediately.

4. Real Estate Broker: While it does require passing a certification exam, it’s a career path that has high income potential and doesn't require a college degree.

5. Commercial Pilot: You'll need to get a pilot’s license, of course, but regional airlines often hire pilots with only a high school diploma.

It's important to remember that not every job will be a perfect fit—your individual talents and interests will also be a big factor in your success. Additionally, certain industries may require you to complete specific training programs or acquire certain certifications, but these can often be done while on the job or at a vocational school. Good luck!
