Wondering if Howard University is a strong school?

I’m exploring Howard University as a potential option. How does it stand in terms of academic rigor and opportunities? Any feedback from current students or alumni would be appreciated.

Howard University is highly regarded, especially for its strong programs in areas such as business, communications, political science, and health sciences. As one of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the country, it provides an academically rigorous education in an environment that fosters cultural awareness and community engagement. Its location in Washington, D.C. also offers students ample opportunities for internships and networking in a variety of fields such as politics, journalism, and business.

In terms of academic rigor, Howard's programs are well-respected and quite demanding. Classes are challenging, and professors generally hold high expectations of their students. As for opportunities, Howard has a plethora of student-led organizations, sororities and fraternities, and professional organizations that can enrich your college experience. Its robust alumni network can also provide mentorship and potential job opportunities post-graduation.

While I'm unable to give a firsthand account of the student or alumni experience at Howard, I often hear about students appreciating the sense of community and support on campus. The faculty is generally noted for being engaging and invested in their students' futures, too. Given your preference for a school with challenging academics and plenty of opportunities, Howard University could potentially be a good fit for you.
