Best Colleges in Pennsylvania for Secondary Education?

I'm thinking of becoming a high school teacher, and I'm looking at colleges in PA. Which ones have the best secondary education programs? Personal experiences or insights would be super helpful. Thanks!

There are several noteworthy colleges in Pennsylvania which offer strong programs in secondary education.

- University of Pennsylvania: You might consider the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Although it doesn't offer a specific undergraduate degree in secondary education, it does have a sub-matriculation program which allows students to begin their Master's in Education while still undergraduate students. UPenn is known for its rigorous programs and potential for rich student teaching experiences in the Philadelphia area.

- Pennsylvania State University: Penn State's College of Education, on the other hand, offers a Bachelor's in Secondary Education with specializations in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science. Penn State is a big school with a lot of resources, which could provide diverse student teaching positions and internship opportunities.

- University of Pittsburgh: UoP offers a Master of Arts in Teaching program in Secondary Education. Noteworthy is the emphasis on rigorous classroom experiences and field work incorporated into their program.

- Temple University: Their College of Education and Human Development also offers a Bachelor's in Secondary Education, in addition to a 4+1 BA/BS-MEd option which allows students to begin work on their Master's while completing their Bachelor's. This could be a time-efficient way to receive both degrees.

While I don't have personal experiences with these programs, I've heard good things about each. Be sure to visit the campuses and speak to students in the programs to get a firsthand understanding of what to expect. Good luck with your choice!
