Looking for colleges with a good finance program

I want to study finance in college but I'm not sure which schools have the best programs. Could someone point me in the right direction? I'm hoping for a school that offers a lot of internship and networking opportunities.

Absolutely, it sounds like you have a clear idea of what you're looking for in your college experience. Here are a few universities that are renowned for their finance programs:

1) The University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School): Known globally for its outstanding Finance program. They have a strong placement rate in high-profile finance jobs such as investment banking, consulting, and asset management. Another highlight is their robust alumni network which can open up several networking opportunities.

2) New York University (Stern School of Business): Located in the heart of New York, the finance capital of the world, Stern is renowned for its finance program and offers numerous internships and networking opportunities. Their proximity to Wall Street enables students to intern during the academic year.

3) University of Michigan (Ross School of Business): UM's Ross School of Business has a robust undergraduate finance program. Known for its ‘action-based learning,' Ross offers you opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.

4) Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School of Management): Sloan is a great program due to its location, rigorous curriculum, and placement in a top-tier technical institute that's a hub of innovation and startup culture.

Be aware that admission to these universities, particularly their business programs, is highly competitive. They all place high importance on high school GPA, coursework rigor, SAT/ACT scores, and extracurricular activities. In the context of finance, relevant activities might include participation in business clubs, leadership roles, financial literacy initiatives, stock market simulations, and even running a small business.

Diversify your college list with reach, target, and safety schools, so ensure you're considering less selective programs with strong finance offerings too. Look at each school’s career center results: where are alumni working, what internships have students gotten, etc.
