Google jobs without a high school diploma?

A friend of mine is interested in working at Google but hasn't graduated high school. Are there any jobs at Google that don't require a high school diploma or GED?

While Google, like most tech companies, strongly emphasizes education and typically requires at least a high school diploma or GED, they have been known to make exceptions. They particularly prioritize skills and experience. If the applicant can demonstrate outstanding technical skills, creativity, problem-solving ability, and experience in the field, Google may consider regardless of formal education.

For example, roles in areas like coding, web design, UX/UI, or data analysis could potentially be obtained with a proven track record, without necessarily having a high school diploma, though this is more the exception than the rule. Participating in high-quality online courses and boot camps, building an impressive portfolio, and gaining practical experience through internships, part-time jobs, or freelance work would help to build such a track record.

However, Google is also known for highly competitive hiring processes, so it's important to be aware that the absence of a high school diploma or GED may limit opportunities and make the process even more challenging. So, having the necessary skills, experience, and a standout portfolio would be critical.

Remember, though, that each job application would be considered on an individual basis, so it's worth applying if one feels they meet the skills and experience criteria for the job, regardless of education status. Google values talent and innovation, so qualifications are not the only determining factors in their hiring process.
