Good paying first jobs for new high school graduates?

I'm graduating soon and not sure if college is on the immediate horizon. What are some first jobs that offer decent pay for someone fresh out of high school?

There are a number of jobs that pay well for high school graduates, but remember that what you earn is often tied to the skills you've developed and the level of experience you possess. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Trade jobs: Many jobs in the trades pay well and often have apprenticeship programs that allow you to learn while you earn. This includes electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and construction workers. Some of these jobs may require some initial training or certification, but they offer solid salaries and job security.

2. Medical field: Entry-level jobs in the medical field such as certified nursing assistants, medical assistants, or phlebotomists can pay decently. Plus, these can provide a good foundation if you decide to further your education in healthcare.

3. Delivery Driver: With the rise of online shopping and food delivery services, delivery drivers are in high demand. Companies like UPS, FedEx, and Amazon often offer relatively high pay for entry-level drivers, as do food delivery services.

4. Telecommunication companies: Cell phone service providers and cable companies often have entry-level positions in customer service, retail sales, or as installation technicians that offer decent salaries.

5. Municipal and government jobs: While these might require a civil service exam, jobs in municipal departments like sanitation, parks departments, or transportation can pay well and often come with good benefits.

Consider what kind of work you would enjoy and what skills you already have that could be attractive to employers. Even some retail jobs can pay well if they offer commission. Just remember, the most important thing at this stage is to find a job that you enjoy and can grow in.
