Best schools for dental hygiene programs?

I'm looking into becoming a dental hygienist and want to find a school with a strong dental hygiene program. Any suggestions for schools that really prepare you well for this career?

There are several schools known for their strong Dental Hygiene programs. Here are a few examples:

1. University of Minnesota - Twin Cities: They offer a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene and have one of the only master's degrees in dental hygiene available in the Midwest, for those looking to get a more advanced degree in the field.

2. University of Michigan - Ann Arbor: Their Dental Hygiene program is one of the oldest and most respected in the country. The school provides hands-on experience by allowing students to work in their dental clinics.

3. University of Southern California: USC provides a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene, and has a prestigious School of Dentistry.

4. West Virginia University: The School of Dentistry at West Virginia University is the state's only dental school, and its bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene is well-regarded.

5. New York University: Offering an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Hygiene and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dental Hygiene degrees, NYU's College of Dentistry is known for its rigorous curriculum and excellent faculty.

6. Ohio State University: OSU's College of Dentistry is the third largest public dental school in the U.S. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH), Master of Science (MS) program in dental hygiene, and an online degree completion program for dental hygienists who hold an associate's degree or certificate.

Whichever school you decide on, the key to a good Dental Hygiene education is a strong core curriculum, access to modern facilities, and plenty of clinical experience to prepare you for your career. Additionally, I suggest considering factors such as location, tuition costs, and graduation rates to make an informed decision.
