What majors are popular at Grand Valley State University?

I'm considering applying to Grand Valley State University but I'm not totally sure about my major yet. What are some of the popular or strong programs they offer? Any advice on choosing a major there?

Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is well-regarded for several of its programs, reflective of the diverse interests of its students.

A few of the popular and highly regarded majors at GVSU include:

1. Health Professions: GVSU's interprofessional health education and research spans their health campuses, hospitals, and clinics.

2. Business Management: Students in this major have opportunities to work on real world projects and learn from experienced and successful business leaders.

3. Education: GVSU offers strong elementary and secondary education programs, turning out many of Michigan's teachers.

4. Engineering: The university offers a number of ABET-accredited engineering specialties.

5. Nursing: Their nursing program is known to be demanding but successful; GSVU students have a high NCLEX pass rate.

Selecting a major can feel overwhelming, but it's also an exciting opportunity to pursue what you're passionate about. To simplify the process, I recommend a few strategies: think about what subjects you've enjoyed in school, consider your long-term career goals or the type of job you might want to have, and take a broad range of classes in your first year to test out your interests.

It's also essential to talk to others. Reach out to GVSU admissions or current students to get a better sense of the strengths and weaknesses of different programs. You also might want to speak to a career counselor or academic advisor. They can help you understand what certain majors can lead to job-wise. It's normal not to know exactly what you want to do, and remember you can often switch majors if you change your mind.
