What's it like to be a high school assistant football coach?

I'm thinking about getting involved with coaching at my school, specifically as an assistant football coach. What would my main job duties and responsibilities be? And how can I best prepare myself for this role?

You may lead drill exercises, improve player technique, and teach the team's offensive and defensive strategies. This could involve breaking down complex plays into simpler, understandable parts for the players.
