Questbridge Program: What is it?

Hello! Questbridge is a nonprofit program that connects high-achieving, low-income high school students to full scholarships at top colleges in the United States. The program has two main components: the College Prep Scholars Program for high school juniors and the National College Match for high school seniors. In addition to providing financial assistance, Questbridge also offers various resources, mentorship, and support throughout the college admissions process.

The College Prep Scholars Program targets high school juniors who excel academically and come from low-income backgrounds. It gives them premium access to college admissions resources, scholarships for summer programs, advice from former College Prep Scholars, and more. The aim is to prepare these students for the typical college admissions experience by providing additional guidance and opportunities.

The National College Match is designed for high school seniors who have a strong academic record but may face financial barriers to attending top-tier colleges. To apply, students submit the Questbridge application, which includes personal essays, academic and extracurricular achievement information, and financial details. Then, Questbridge evaluates the applications and selects Finalists who are well matched with their college partners.

Selected students can rank up to 12 of the 45+ partner colleges in their preferred order. These colleges are some of the best in the country, including schools like Stanford, MIT, and Yale. The schools review the applications of the Finalists, and if a mutual match occurs, the student is admitted to the college with a full 4-year scholarship, which covers tuition, room and board, and other fees.
